Captain Ralph Hamor

The father of ship-captain, Ralph Hamor, scarcely escaped with his life by a hair's breath during the massacre of 1622. Source: Abstracts of Proceedings of Virginia Company of London, Vol. I, p. 118. The elder Hamor, a son of a merchant tailor, had come to Jamestown on one of the first voyages.
